It\u2019s the grown-ass adults, armed with pitchforks and a dangerously low sense of humour, who\u2019ve made it their life\u2019s mission to protect Indian sanskaar from comedians, memes, and microwave popcorn.<\/p>\n

Newsflash: Kids didn\u2019t cancel Munawar. Kids aren\u2019t offended by Tanmay Bhat. Kids didn\u2019t start hashtags against AIB. It\u2019s your well-raised, Bhajan-singing WhatsApp-university-certified adults<\/strong> who felt blasphemy.<\/p>\n

So, before we put parental failure on trial, how about we address the bigger issue?<\/p>\n

*The problem isn\u2019t that kids saw it.*<\/strong>
\nThe problem is that we still haven\u2019t taught our kids how to think.<\/strong><\/p>\n

We shelter them from cuss words but expose them to bigotry.
\nWe filter out roast comedy but serve them casteism and patriarchy on a gold-plated thaali.<\/p>\n

India doesn\u2019t need censorship.<\/strong>
\nIndia needs *discernment.*<\/strong>
\nLabel the content.
\nTag it NSFW, 18+, political, sexual, whatever.
\nLet people choose.
\nLet people take ownership of what they consume.<\/p>\n

We live in a country where a 10-year-old can operate ChatGPT but isn\u2019t trusted to decide whether a joke is offensive or not. The result? They grow into 35-year-olds who report Netflix specials because their faith got a boo-boo.<\/p>\n

Here’s the truth bomb: *Freedom of speech comes with the burden of sensibility.*<\/strong> Not just for the creator, but also the consumer.<\/p>\n

So let\u2019s stop treating creators like they\u2019re babysitters to our children\u2019s moral compass. They\u2019re artists, not au pairs.<\/strong>
