Not blocked them. Not abused them. The inspector was confused. Let him go.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">That is the real story.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Not corruption. Not one political party. Not one convoy.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The real story is institutional helplessness.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">India has inherited a colonial governance mindset where power must constantly be seen, felt, feared, and theatrically respected. That is the foundation of modern <\/span><b>VIP culture in India<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The British left in 1947.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The psychology never did.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Somewhere deep in the bureaucratic DNA of the subcontinent still exists the belief that:<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2022 the powerful move first,<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2022 the citizen moves aside,<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2022 and the State must demonstrate its superiority regularly.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Not through service. In fact, I highly doubt the CM even knew or cared.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This was about the ecosystem around power.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The orbit.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The unofficial culture of: \u201cDo you know who is passing?\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">India\u2019s favorite constitutional amendment.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">And here\u2019s what privileged people often fail to understand:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I got lucky.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Because I knew how to remain calm. Because I spoke respectfully. Because I could joke with the cops. Because they Googled me. Because they saw my media work. Professional.
