What’s In A Process?
A process is a series of actions or steps taken in order to achieve a particular end. By definition a process should make working easier, replicable and take out potential misadventures or deviations.
While this continues to be the objective, a prime need for the process is not to become a barrier. A process is prima facie meant to make the work more streamlined.
In my experience, most processes fail on their rigidity. They fail when people start using them as an excuse to get out of work or as an excuse to not take responsibility.
To be true to the process, never say ‘I won’t because it is not part of the process’. Always look for a reason to participate more, to give more and to make it better. More true if you work in SMBs.
Let me redefine Process:
“A process is a series of actions or steps taken in order to achieve a particular end. By definition a process should make working easier, replicable and take out potential misadventures or deviations. If a process ever becomes an inhibitor in the ability to do the right thing, STOP and recreate the process.”
This one singular thing can bring a lot of change at the work place and can take efficiency and the ability to deliver impact to the next level.
