10 years, No Regrets

Today is reality day. 9th May. It has a very significant presence in my life. It’s the day when I decided on calling my new venture OMLogic. A company that has become a part of my life bigger than anything could ever be. OMLogic, the name, completes a decade of being, and its certainly time to reminisce. I still keep getting asked, mostly by people who find my decision disappointing and confusing, as to why I decided to move back to India. And I have given multiple different answers to them based on who was asking the question. Entrepreneurship bug, parents, Delhi life, kids are top amongst a list of 10 answers.

I have asked this question to myself numerous times and can say for sure none of them is true. So, why did I move back. Well, because I was bored. There, you have it!

Don’t get me wrong, I had a wonderful career. I was on fast path to leadership in IBM, salary more than most of my compatriots, house up on the hill and everything set right. But it all didn’t seem enough.

I guess I love the entropy, the chaos, the unknown, the change from the norm. One thing I can say about the move back to India is, 10 years, no regrets. Sure I would done some things differently (like choosing different partners to start the company with or ensuring I don’t take some of the ass-holes as customers which I did but overall…10 years, no regrets.Continue Reading

E-commerce Is No Joke!

E-commerce has lately become a keenly watched sector in India, especially with a handful of home-grown successful ventures being valued at billions of dollars. Likes of Sachin Bansal and Binny Bansal have inspired many of us to join the e-commerce league of India. As easy as it seems, it isn’t one of the simpler businesses […]

Time to Serve the Alma-Mater

When you’re young all you want to do is grow up. When you grow up into successful adults, all that you want to do is go back to the roots and relive your childhood. I have been a part of the best of educational institutions in India and abroad, acquainted with stellar professors but my alma-mater DAV School, Shalimar Bagh shall always be the one I would want to revisit.

#ModiInDAV

Living away from my native land in USA always brought memories of my beautiful childhood in the playgrounds, classrooms, and canteen from DAV School. DAV laid the wreath for success and excellence, carving inch by inch of me, thereby making me a better person. I am so proud to be associated with one of the finest schools across the globe.Continue Reading

India Leadership Forum (NILF)

See you at NILF 2016!

NASSCOM India Leadership Forum, perhaps one of the best gatherings of thought leaders and global influencers from all over the globe. The event is focused on exchanging ideas and experiences related to the world of technology. But that’s not what interests me in this year’s event.

India Leadership Forum (NILF)

Sure it will be a gala event. Sure there will be lots of wonderful national and international speakers. Sure there will be lots of business generated and discussed on the sidelines. But what is really exciting for me is that this year represents a transition. A transition from the exchange of ideas figuring out what technology might do in the next few years to what it has done in the last 12 months and what it will do in the next 2 years.Continue Reading

My Experiments With Entrepreneurship

Elon Musk once said, “Creating a company is a very difficult thing. Starting a company is like eating glass and staring into the abyss. You have to do lots of things you don’t like. There’s no time to wallow and lick your wounds. Don’t let stress sideline you. Instead, use it as fuel to keep […]

Can you join and share?

The visuals of crumbling buildings and the cries of the helpless people was bone chilling. The fast and indeed the furious river had claimed many a lives.  I switched off the News channel but the sight of the devastation refused to leave my mind. It’s rightly said that Man is nothing in front of Mother […]

2012 – Not really the end of the world

All you need is a ‘Winning Attitude’! At the beginning of 2012, someone told me that 2012 would be a rather bad year for me. No, it wasn’t someone threatening me; it was someone checking my stars. Looking at what has transpired, I am not sure of how to look at it, but it sure […]

Another Blog.. Why? Why? Why?

I have been running a social media agency for years now, and have shied away from starting a blog of my own.. Weird, right!! Well, come to think of it, not so weird. Everybody in the social media industry seems to want to right, some prolific great writers, and others just like to hear themselves […]
