A Grand Death or a Normal Life?

A Grand Death or a Normal Life?

May 12, 2025 0

A while ago, I asked a question on Facebook.
Simple. Brutal. Unfiltered.

“If given a choice — would you pick a grand death or a normal life?”

And I’ve never stopped thinking about it.

The Great Delusion of “Normal”

Most people live their lives like rented rooms.
Comfortable. Predictable.
Don’t stain the walls. Don’t be too loud. Don’t ask too much.

They die with bank balances, folded sweaters, and polite eulogies.
“He lived a good life.”
“He was a kind man.”
“He meant well.”

But let me ask you this:
What’s the point of living 80 years with no fire in the gut?

My Way? It Ends in Fire. Or It Doesn’t Matter.

I’ve said this for years.
The end of life should be Al Qaeda or anti-Al Qaeda.
And no, I’m not talking terrorism.

I’m talking about obsession. Purpose. Extremes.
You either stand so strongly for something — that people want to burn you alive for it.
Or you oppose something so deeply — that you’d give your last breath fighting it.

No middle path. No greys. No LinkedIn fluff.
Die in the trenches. Not in traffic.

But Why? Legacy? Fame? Remembrance?

Hell no.
This isn’t for the world.
This is for me.

I don’t care if they remember me.
I don’t care if they name a road, a chair, or a cricket trophy after me.
I don’t want my kids to quote me or my team to put up posters with my face.

I want to go knowing I gave it everything.
That I emptied my tank.
That I lived like it f
*ing mattered.**

Money? Status? Accomplishments?

They’re fine.
But they’re side dishes.

They’re not why I do what I do.
They’re what happens when you live with obsession.

Too many people live chasing validation —
From society. From LinkedIn. From their dad.

I live chasing that inner fire — the one that says,
“If today’s the last day, would I still do this?”

If the answer’s no too often —
change the script or burn the damn page.

Final Word?

You don’t need a big audience.
You need a big reason.

You don’t need 70 safe years.
You need one year that explodes out of your chest and makes you feel immortal — even if no one’s watching.

So, I ask you again.

A grand death or a normal life?

Choose. Before life chooses for you.
